Sportplan rugby has played a large role in my team's love for the game!
a defender that is part of the ruck, can he take a swipe at the ball or tackle the scrumhalf once he has the ball?
Hi Iâm a proud dad who wants to help his 12 year old son develop as an aspiring number 12/13. No experience at all coaching but willing to give it a go. He already trains with his team of course but only once a week. Iâd like to supplement that with a plan that he and I can follow 2 to 3 times a week but limited realisticallly to he and I. Passing and tackling and speed and agility Iâm guessing are key? Anything on decision making would also be good. Any advice gratefully received!
Hi, anyone know any rugby specific fun games for juniors. ie bulldog, rugby tennis etc'

Any "simple" attacking moves from a scrum that you can recommend for a U15s XV side. Looking to get them to think about how the back line would would set up and have different options from a) center field and b) tight left or right all at the half way mark.
Just started coaching u13, are the 2nd row allowed to bind through the props legs or do they have to bind onto the side? Asked using Sportplan Mobile App
Offside confusion - I have been coaching mini rugby in Scotland for just over a year and had just got used to the idea that the ball is the off side line. Now under the new SRU law variations it is the same as the adult game. Can someone assist with the follwing scenario - A defender comes forward to tackle the ball carrier. The ball carrier side steps the defender and carries on going forward. The defender turns to give chase only to find that the ball carrier has passed the ball backwards across his path in attempt to reach his team-mates. If the defender catches the ball is he off-side? Would the answer to this question change if the defender was on the right side of the ball at the time the interception was made even though he was beyond the ball carrier at the time which the pass was made?
I recently saw Gilbert has a VT400 "women's" ball. Is this between a size 4 and 5? Is it legal for matches?
Hi. I am in charge of the Mini Rugby (age 8) warm-up and am interested in more ideas. I try and keep them fun, sports specific and interesting for the boys and they seem to like what I do. Can anyone please help? Thanks!
I have read U11 RFU rules but would like clarity on the kick off/re-start. If the ball is knocked on at the re-start is it a/ a scrum put in to the team that knocked on, b/ play continues or c/ scrum put in to attacking team? Thanks for any help.
Can you lift the legs when clearing out the ruck and if so what happens if you take the player off his feet to the ground?
How can I stop the kids bunching in tag rugby games ?
Hello, I have a real issue with certain players in my team, they are lazy, undisciplined, don't respect the coach or trainner. What should I do? how can I try to get them back on track? The problem is that we are a small club, our team is only 11 members and they feel they have their own position earned no matter if they train or not. Thanks!!
Hi, at the moment having trouble with our junior team getting to tackle correctly.....we've trained well and brought various drills to tackle prperly but come game day the kids are going too high and grabbing jerseys.....only one of two have a great technique!! So any idea for teaching better tackle technique for 10 & 11 year olds? Thanks and look forward to you're response. Asked using Sportplan Mobile App
